Good Etiquette

  • Introduce yourself to everyone you’re playing with and against, especially if you don’t know them.

  • Call out the score clearly with every serve.

  • Be mindful of your language. Foul language should be avoided. (though I admit it…sometimes…)

  • If you hit your opponent with the ball, be sure to be polite and say “...sorry.”

  • Play fair. Call “in and out” balls honestly. The team receiving the “in or out” ball makes the call.
Don’t question it and just move on to the next point.

    • When playing, if a ball is “out” the hand gesture is to point with your index finger vertically in the air

    • When playing, if the ball is “in” the hand gesture is to point with your index finger down to the ground.

  • Have fun, smile and compliment your partner and opponents on good shots. We’re here for fun.

  • Make sure your serve is a legal serve (see video link)

  • At the end of the game, go to the net, tap paddles and thank your opponent and partner for the game.

  • If you are at a busy court location, be sure to follow the local etiquette for next players in. Stack your paddle in the queue and wait your turn.
